In Final Fantasy 1, the Warriors of Light close a time loop that also causes everyone to forget them. NPCs don't recognize characters from version 1.0 as the Warriors of Light. You are recognized as a person of destiny by the crystal you bear, much like the Warriors of Light. One of the veteran rewards is a minion that randomly summons one of the three Warriors of Light.ģ. The player characters are called 'Warrior of Light' by many NPCs.Ģ.

Many of the games sound effects are direct references to sound effects used throughout the Final Fantasy series. A large amount of Final Fantasy series characters are featured as cards in the Final Fantasy 14 version of Triple Triad. The airship company, Highwind Airways, is a reference to the many characters in the series whose last names are Highwind. During the Halloween event the Magic Pot says, 'Gimme Elixir!' much like they do in other games of the series. Prior to many storyline battles, a 'whoosh' effect is used similar to the effect used for random encounters in previous games.ħ. A 'Pointing Finger' minion can be obtained that resembles the cursor used in menus of earlier Final Fantasy games.Ħ. Most of the servers are named after things/place/people/enemies/etc from other Final Fantasy games. Bacchus Wine (found in many Final Fantasy games) is involved in the quest 'It Won't Work' in Wineport.Ĥ. Cid is in the game and he's involved with Airships.ģ.
